Hannah & Isaac's Vintage Car Autumn Wedding on the Lizard: Cornwall Wedding Photography

Back in September, George and I photographed a beautifully colourful wedding just down the road from where we live. It was so wonderful being among the familiar rolling river country of the Lizard peninsula and although there was a thick Cornish mizzle, Hannah & Isaac had a most beautiful day full of laughter, romance & pure joy. Being an Art graduate, Hannah had designed and made the arts and crafts herself and had decorated the marquee in a refreshing & autumnal myriad of colour & texture. There were pom-pom curtains, wicker picnic baskets, trestle tables and local Roskilly's ice cream in abundance. With views over the rolling countryside and Isaac's dad's collection of vintage cars, the setting was quintessentially British & the what a perfect couple. George had the pleasure of growing up with Isaac & Hannah as the three were old school friends and we had known since the early days that a wedding would one day be on the cards! Hannah & Isaac were one of those perfect couples that you always knew were meant to be, and what a treat and honour it was to capture their incredibly precious day.

I loved these unique buttonholes... so colourful with a mix of succulents, autumn flowers & roses. Makeup was done by local MUA Penny Pascoe.

It was a super chilled out morning at Hannah's house, she was one of the most chilled out brides I had met and the atmosphere was so relaxed.

So much love for these turquoise velvet bow-ties... I think they must be my favourite bow-ties to date!

While I was photographing Hannah getting ready, George was off with Isaac and his best man.

Hannah's father sees his daughter all dressed up as a bride for the first time. I love capturing these once in a lifetime moments and the expressions that go with them.

First look...

The ceremony took place at Manaccan chapel which had been recently lovingly restored. Set in the middle of the Cornish wilderness among the rolling hills and winding country lanes, the chapel had such a history about it and such an authentic feel. It was an extremely important place to them and it was wonderful to capture them exchange their vows here.

One of my favourite parts of the day... the carnage of the confetti train. This one certainly didn't disappoint, poor Hannah & Isaac got fully dowsed in dried flower petals.

The pair were chauffeur driven by Isaac's best man off to Isaac's family's home for the reception. This car belonged to Isaac's family and had such character, I love this shot of it trundling through the Cornish countryside with tin cans trailing along behind.

Over at Higher Bochym for the reception, they had decked out a marquee in the most colourful decorations I had ever seen. It was a vibrant & arty festival of colour & textures, a real testament to Hannah's eye for creativity. They had opted for a rustic picnic served by local Kerra's Catering, also from the same village on the Lizard with apple juice provided from the local Helford Creek  and ice cream from Roskilly's. It truly was a Lizard wedding that supported the local suppliers & community!

Hannah even had summery homemade crackers filled with dried lavender which provided everyone with lots of laughs during the feast.

In the evening, the Newlyn Reeler's, a Ceilidh band from (guess!) Newlyn came over and everybody got onto the floor for a barn dance. Another Cornish tradition, to have a folk dance at a wedding.

Kerra's catering also laid on a delicious hog roast in the evening ... another of their specialties. They served up mouthwatering pork baps (locally sourced pig of course!) which were a huge hit.

These two doing their first dance...

And of course... the perfect end to an autumn wedding is with a sparkler send of!

It was a gorgeous wedding and the rain did nothing to mare the celebrations. It was wonderful to see so much of our local community together to celebrate these two awesome people who looked amazing! We were so grateful to be a part of the day and can't wait to see what amazing things these two achieve together.
Wishing you all the best guys, we know you'll carry on being awesome!
